A-Team Waterloo Region was started by two women. They met at a local event, and wanted to meet more individuals who had similar experiences. At that time, there were no local adult support groups. After about a year and a half of planning, they started holding support group meetings. We are a grassroots, volunteer organization.
Our first adult group meeting was held in June of 2014. The group was named A-Team Waterloo Region a few months later. Our group has grown and evolved considerably since then.
